An island cannot rule a continent
Lumen · High school
Paine: small islands may need a kingdom’s care, but a continent perpetually governed by an island is absurd. Nature never made the satellite larger than its primary planet. England to Europe, America to itself. Three or four thousand miles with a petition is folly. Not Gandhi. Not Cromwell. Not 1787.
